Abstract
The pulmonary veins have been recognized as the primary source of atrial triggers, and their isolation has become the cornerstone for ablation of atrial fibrillation. However, long-term success rates after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) are limited. Several promising new mapping techniques are described in this article, aiming to better understand the mechanisms underlying the induction and maintenance of atrial fibrillation and to develop more effective ablation strategies.Entities:
