Correction of reflux with the ureteric crossover method. Clinical experience in 50 patients.

A Kondo, T Otani.

Abstract

We describe 50 consecutive patients who underwent anti-reflux surgery with the ureteric crossover method; 32 had primary and 18 had secondary reflux. The surgical procedure was characterised by the fact that the ureters crossed and overlapped each other at their middle portion submucosally. The surgical success rate was 100% for primary reflux patients and 89% for those with secondary reflux. It was concluded that the ureteric crossover method was a safe and effective anti-reflux procedure.
