Abstract
The results after cryosurgical treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia at 1, 5, and 10 years are reported. Ninety-four percent of the 1675 patients eligible for assessment at 1 year were successfully treated, with only 5.6% lost to follow-up. After 5 years, 14% of patients were lost to follow-up, but the corrected success rate remained essentially unchanged. No major differences in success rates were noted for the various histologic grades of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia treated. A small but definite percentage of patients developed further disease over the ensuing years, indicating the need for long-term, continued surveillance of these patients.Entities:
