Coexisting adenocarcinoma of prostate in patients undergoing cystoprostatectomy for bladder cancer.

H N Winfield, P K Reddy, P H Lange.

Abstract

The histopathology of the prostate in 80 men who underwent radical cystoprostatectomy for bladder cancer was evaluated. Twenty-two men had coexisting adenocarcinoma of the prostate; 11 had high-grade, large-volume disease. These data suggest that all prostatic tissue should be removed at cystoprostatectomy.
