Abstract

Mucormycosis is an opportunistic fungal infection usually seen in immunocompromised patients. We report a case of gastric mucormycosis in an immune-competent lady that mimicked a gastric malignancy, presenting a diagnostic challenge. A high index of suspicion is required for the diagnosis and successful treatment of this potentially life-threatening condition. © Indian Association of Surgical Oncology 2016.
