Abstract

Complete surgical resection is the best treatment option for retroperitoneal sarcomas even if it entails a multi-visceral resection. The extent of surgery is determined not only by the aggressiveness of the tumour but also by its location. This report presents a challenging case of retroperitoneal sarcoma and describes the planning and decision-making that resulted in the success of such an extensive surgical procedure. © Indian Association of Surgical Oncology 2017.
