Abstract
BACKGROUND: Chronic low-grade inflammation has been suggested as a key factor in the association between stress exposure and long-term health. Care work is recognized as a profession with a high degree of job stress and health risks. However, for care professionals, the study base on inflammatory activity due to adverse working conditions is limited.Entities:

Note. n = 10 (of N = 140) participants were excluded from analysis due to acute or chronic inflammation-related medical conditions. M = Mean, SD = Standard deviation. Significance testing: ANOVA, bold if p < .05. Scale ranges of work overload and autonomy: 1 = ‘no, not all’ to 5 = ‘yes, to a great extent’. Scale range of social support scale: 1 = ‘not at all’ to 4 = ‘to a great extent’.
