Abstract
Background: In our previous study, we developed a 4-hook claw-suture localization device for pulmonary nodule resection, which acheived satifisfactory results. Following this, we conducted this single-center, open-label, randomized clinical trial to compare the success rate and complication rate of this novel localization device and currently widely-used hookwire.Entities:

Figure 1The study flow diagram. The new claw-suture system has four blunt-ended fishhook-shaped hooks, and an absorbable three-colored suture is attached to its tail.
Figure 2Photographs of the localization procedure. (A) Radiologist performing the puncture. (B) CT scan showing the coaxial needle tip (red arrow) was adjacent to the lesion (black arrow), which is an ideal position while releasing the anchor claw. (C) CT scan showing that the anchor claw (red arrow) was placed just beside the lesion (black arrow). (D) Photograph showing the tri-colored suture (blue arrow) exposed in the pleural cavity visualized in the first exploration by thoracoscopy. The distal end of the suture was in the chest wall. (E,F) Schematic graphs showing the anchor claw after being released. CT, computed tomography.
