Abstract
A 46-year-old woman with a history of biopsy-proven extranodal large cell lymphoma of the maxillary sinus presented four months after this condition was diagnosed with signs of unilateral iritis. After an initial response to topical corticosteroid therapy, the iritis relapsed, the eye rapidly becoming blind and painful. Histopathological examination of the enucleated globe showed a diffuse infiltration of the entire uveal tract by malignant lymphocytes consistent with large cell lymphoma. Systemic examination revealed no concurrent foci of malignancy. This dramatic presentation of ocular involvement is quite unusual for large cell lymphoma.Entities:
