Abstract
A rotavirus was isolated from neonatal ferrets (Mustela putorius furo) with diarrhea at a large commercial farm. This virus is classified as an atypical rotavirus, probably belonging to the group C rotaviruses. This classification is based on the lack of the rotavirus group A common antigen and on its distinct dsRNA electropherotype pattern in polyacrylamide gels. The diarrheal disease was reproduced experimentally in neonatal ferrets.Entities:
