On the rejection reaction against corneal grafts and first trails with tissue-typed and HLA-adapted donor material (author's transl).

Rejection is a very important, in fact the most important cause of corneal graft failure since the improvements in the surgical grafting techniques. The percentage of rejections is especially high with regrafts and grafts in highly vascularised eyes. Therefore we tried to improve the prognosis of these particular groups by using tissue typed donor material matched as well as possible.
