Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Insula plays an integrating role in sensory, affective, emotional, cognitive and autonomic functions in migraine, especially in migraine with aura (MA). Insula is functionally divided into 3 subregions, the dorsoanterior, the ventroanterior and the posterior insula respectively related to cognition, emotion, and somatosensory functions. This study aimed at investigating functional connectivity of insula subregions in MA.Entities:

Fig. 1Region of interest (ROI) located in the dorsal (A), middle (B) and ventral(C) insula. These ROI were considered as seeds in the seed-to-voxel analysis. MNI coordinates are given in Table 1

| Postero-dorsal insula | ROI 2 R (36, -9, 7) | ROI 2 L (-36, -9, 7) |
| Anterior middle insula | ROI 3 R (36, 19, 1) | ROI 3 L (-36, 19, 1) |
| Posterior middle insula | ROI 4 R (40, -5, 0) | ROI 4 L (-40, -5, 0) |
