Abstract
Central pontine myelinolysis (CPM) is a demyelinating disease producing serious or even fatal illness. The cause of the disease has been primarily attributed to alcoholism. Recently hyponatremia and its rapid correction have been related to CPM. We describe an alcoholic patient who developed the disease. The case has given us the opportunity of reflecting on CPM pathogenesis and management.Entities:
