Abstract
This paper reports the complications and results after 80 trabeculotomies for open angle glaucoma, which were performed between 1971 and 1975 at the University Eye Clinic in Marburg. The longest follow-up period was between 1.5 and 2.0 years. Intraoperative complications included anterior chamber bleeding, synechias, and mild cataracts. In 2/3 of the operated eyes the intraocular pressure could be controlled without additional medication. Twenty-eight percent of the patients again required pressure-reducing drugs 1 year after trabeculotomy; 11% still remained hypertonic.Entities:
