Therapeutic effect of sleep deprivation in patients with premenstrual syndrome.

B L Parry, T A Wehr.

Abstract

Eight of 10 women with premenstrual depression responded to one night's total sleep deprivation and maintained their improvement after a night of recovery sleep. In responders, subsequent late-night partial sleep deprivation was more effective than early-night deprivation.
