Abstract
Objective: There were few studies that had attempted to predict facial emotion recognition (FER) ability at the individual level in schizophrenia patients. In this study, we developed a model for the prediction of FER ability in Chinese Han patients with the first-episode schizophrenia (FSZ). Materials andEntities:
Keywords: amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF); facial emotion recognition (FER); first-episode schizophrenia (FSZ); functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI); support vector regression (SVR)

FIGURE 2The brain regions with different mean of the ALFF (mALFF) value between patients with first-episode schizophrenia (FSZ) and healthy control (HC). In patients, increased mALFF value were distributed in regions including medial cingulate, posterior cingulate, precuneus, and middle frontal gyrus (P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction), while decreased mALFF value in calcarine, lingual gyrus, cuneus, precentral gyrus, postcentral gyrus, paracentral lobule lobes, supplementary motor area, and superior occipital gyrus (P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction).
