Abstract
A lavage procedure was developed to obtain intestinal secretions from rabbits. The procedure facilitated the repeated monitoring of the intestinal IgA immune response of these animals to enteric infection with Campylobacter jejuni. This non-invasive technique was easily performed, reproducible and yielded consistent levels of IgA from rabbit intestinal secretions. It is anticipated that this procedure will aid in the study of the intestinal immune response of rabbits to other enteric pathogens.Entities:
