Abstract
This is a study of the aetiological and clinical aspects of 50 cases of typhoid fever with psychiatric manifestations in the Sudan. The incidence of psychiatric symptoms was 8%, the clinical picture was one of acute psycho-organic reactions (74%), and in 18% the psychiatric symptoms preceded the onset of the fever. The typhoid infection and, to a lesser degree, susceptible personality seem to be important aetiological factors.Entities:
