Abstract

The acute abdomen in a newborn is not an uncommon condition and the causes are multiple; however, intestinal occlusion with gangrene of the bowel due to a mesenteric cyst has not been recorded before and the purpose of this paper is to record a case of a newborn with intestinal obstruction and gangrene of the bowel due to a mesenteric cyst.
