Abstract
Background: Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a serious public health problem widely present among young adults and adolescents. While finding risk factors associated with NSSI among young patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) is challenging, the current study aims to measure childhood adversity and serum cortisol levels and elucidate their relationship in MDD patients with NSSI.Entities:

Logistic regression model 1 was performed to investigate the correlation of individual variable with NSSI after adjusting for age, sex, life-style factors like smoking, alcohol intaking. Logistic regression model 2 was performed including all the variables which were significantly associated with NSSI in model 1 (p < 0.1) using Backward LR method after adjusting for age, sex, life-style factors like smoking, alcohol intaking (p < 0.05).
