Figure 2Mean frequency of high-risk coprescription(s) with opioids. Mean frequency of coprescription of opioids with high-risk drugs increased from 2007 to 2014 for all strata; mean frequency decreased from 2014 to 2016 overall and for National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) and plateaued from 2014 to 2018 for National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NHAMCS). There is a red line through 2012 because data capture changed from paper to electronic collection for both surveys and could have initially inflated results.
