Abstract
An approach to blocking the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve at the point where its branches emerge from below the medial border of gluteus maximus is described. This is located by inserting the needle at a point one quarter of the distance from the ischial tuberosity to the greater trochanter in the gluteal fold and then feeling two distinct losses of resistance as superficial and deep fascia are penetrated with a short-bevelled needle.Entities:
