Abstract
We report the draft genome sequence of Pasteurella canis strain PA42, which was isolated from the blood of a diseased dog in Japan in 2021. The 2.151-Mbp genome has a G+C content of 36.6%. Sequences unmapped to the reference genome sequence of NCTC 11621T (GenBank accession number UGTV00000000.1) were characterized.Entities:

FIG 1P. canis strain PA42 forms small, smooth colonies (A), compared to P. multocida strain PA17 colonies (B), on a blood agar plate. The strains were inoculated onto blood agar plates and incubated in 5% CO2 at 37°C for 24 h.
