Abstract
The gastroenterologist must be alert to diagnosing parasitic diseases when collecting intestinal fluid samples or cytologies during endoscopy. Between 1979 and 1982, we identified nematodes in 10 endoscopic specimens. None were Strongyloides stercoralis. We emphasize the importance and technical aspects of distinguishing nonpathogenic nematodes from Strongyloides.Entities:
