Abstract
Twenty-three congenital knee dislocations in 17 patients were reviewed after an average follow-up of 11 years. There was a 30% incidence of breech delivery along with a 41% incidence of clubfoot. Treatment in serial casts was successful in 10 knees; 13 required operations. Prognosis was most favorable in unilateral cases and when surgery was performed before 2 years of age. Quadriceps lengthening during knee surgery facilitated the subsequent reduction of ipsilateral dislocated hip.Entities:
