P/F ratio increased significantly during the first seven days of treatment, rising from 292 ± 60.4 to 310 ± 73 (p = 0.033) as well as oxygen saturation (95.8 ± 2 at baseline vs. 97.1 ± 1.6 at day 7; p < 0.001). On the contrary, the observed increase in PAO2 did not reach statistical significance (72.8 ± 14 vs. 77.6 ± 11.4; p = 0.083).
