Abstract
BACKGROUND: Delirium predicts poor outcomes, however identifying patients with the worst outcomes is challenging. Plasma neurofilament light protein (NfL) is a sensitive indicator of neuronal damage. Adverse clinical outcomes
(i) Comparison between NfL plasma concentration at day one and change day one to three in patients with hospital lengths of stay of over 14 days who survived 6 months with patients who had a hospital stay of less than 14 days and/or died within 6 months.
(ii) Comparison between NfL plasma concentration at day one in patients who survived up to 6 months and those who died.
