STo results versus STc results
| Test | STo | STc | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (Doctor) | 23.43 ± 9.76 | 14.74 ± 9.80 | <0.001[ |
| 2 (Nurse, first visit) | 23.75 ± 9.35 | 15.61 ± 9.62 | <0.001[ |
| 3 (Nurse, second visit) | 23.35 ± 8.69 | 16.62 ± 10.42 | <0.001[ |
Values are presented as mean ± standard deviation.
STo = Schirmer test without anesthesia when the eyes are open; STc = Schirmer test without anesthesia when the eyes are closed.
Statistically significant.

Two-way mixed model with consistency type was used when calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient of the ST results. ST without anesthesia when the eyes are open are classified as S1, S3, and S5; whereas ST without anesthesia when the eyes are closed are classified as S2, S4, and S6. S1 and S2 were performed by the doctor. S3 and S4 were performed by the nurse on the first visit. S5 and S6 were performed by the same nurse on the second visit.
ST = Schirmer test.
