Sirs: we would like to share ideas on the publication “Analysis of YouTube videos as a source of information for myocarditis during the COVID-19 pandemic [1].” Memioglu et al. mentioned that YouTube videos on myocarditis have mostly focused on the associations between myocarditis and COVID-19 disease and vaccination [1]. Memioglu et al. noted that health-related contents on YouTube should be subjected to peer review and quality assessment [1]. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the issue of the accuracy and credibility of health data on social media, especially YouTube, is a major concern [2]. Controlling the internet data source could be tricky. Local public health authorities may need to monitor and implement notifications or blockades of social media sites that provide false or dangerous information. The popularity of the uploaded YouTube clips is an intriguing problem. Official sources from local public health agencies may be less appealing and ineffective in giving health education to the community. This is a problem that needs to be rethought to improve. Finally, because COVID-19 data are constantly changing, every day, new information is added. When time passes, the data provided on YouTube may become out-of-date and erroneous. As a result, continuous content monitoring is required.
