Abstract
Background: Limited data were available about the burden of cardiovascular events (CVEs) during hospitalization in elderly patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). The aim was to assess the incidence, characteristics, predictive factors and outcomes of CVEs in elderly patients with CAP during hospitalization.Entities:

Figure 1The occurrence of CVEs, CF, in-hospital mortality, and 30-day mortality in elderly patients of different age groups. 1) As for the occurrence of CVEs, there are statistical differences between the two groups (p<0.05), except for the group aged 65–70 years and 71–75 years, group aged 76–80 years and 81–85 years. 2) As for the rate of CF, there are statistical differences between the group aged ≥86 years and all other groups (p<0.05). 3) As for the rate of in-hospital, there are statistical differences between the group aged 65–70 years versus group aged 81–85 years and group aged ≥86 years (p<0.05); There are statistical differences between the group aged ≥86 years and all other groups (p<0.05). 4) As for the rate of 30-day mortality, there are statistical differences between the group aged ≥86 years and all other groups (p<0.05).
Figure 2The occurrence of CF, in-hospital mortality, and 30-day mortality in elderly patients with different numbers of cardiovascular events. As for the rate of CF, in-hospital and 30-day mortality, there are statistical differences between the two groups (p<0.05), except for group with two and three types of CVEs.
