The mechanobullous diseases.

M Tabas, S Gibbons, E A Bauer.

Abstract

The mechanobullous diseases exhibit extensive skin fragility such that minimal trauma results in blistering. Clinical manifestations range from mild to severe generalized involvement with significant morbidity and mortality. Ultrastructural and biochemical abnormalities have been described and provide insight into these disease processes.
