Abstract
Objective: Sarcopenia is one of the influencing factors of poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer but the association with readmission are unknown. We aimed to explore factors associated with readmission after gastrectomy and to determine whether preoperative sarcopenia is a common outcome in readmitted patients.Entities:

EWGSOP2 criteria for the diagnosis of sarcopenia.
Probable sarcopenia is identified by criterion 1. Diagnosis is confirmed by additional documentation of criterion 2.
---
If criteria 1, 2, and 3 are all met, sarcopenia is considered severe
(1) Low muscle strength
(2) Low muscle quantity or quality
(3) Low physical performance
