Abstract
Hormones significantly influence the pathogenesis of asthma, rhinitis, and eczema. This review aims to summarize relevant clinical considerations for practicing allergists and immunologists. The first section reviews the effects of sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. The second concerns insulin production in the context of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The third concludes with a discussion of thyroid and adrenal pathology in relationship to asthma, rhinitis, and eczema. Published by Elsevier Inc.Entities:
