TeamGym is one of the youngest disciplines in the European Union of Gymnastics. The first European Championship was held in Finland in 1996 and since then the discipline has gained an increasing popularity in Europe. The International Gymnastic Federation have also discovered the sport as nations around the world have started to show interest in the discipline. Competitions are divided into three disciplines: a rhythmic and acrobatic Floor routine, Tumbling (series of three to six jumps) and Trampet (take-off in an inclined trampoline followed with a landing on a hard mat).
