Dear Editor; We read with interest the article by George[1] published entitled “George G, Varsha AV, Philip MA, et al. Myocardial protection in cardiac surgery: Del Nido versus blood cardioplegia. Ann Card Anaesth. 2020;23(4):477-484. doi: 10.4103/aca.ACA_153_19.There is an issue we want to contribute to this study. The authors say there is no difference about ACCT (aortic cross clamp time) and TCBT (total cardiopulmonary bypass time), between Del Nido and blood cardioplegia groups, for coronary bypass surgery patients. But there is not enough data about the number of distal anastomosis between two cardioplegia groups. Presence of difference, changes ACCT and TCBT regardless of cardioplegia.[2]We congratulate George et al. for their important study about Del Nido cardioplegia solution in coronary artery bypass surgery. We would like to hear authors' opinion on this matter.
