Abstract
Klebocin, a bacteriocin produced by Klebsiella pneumoniae 158, was purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulphate fractionation and sequential DEAE-Sephacel and Sephadex G-150 column chromatography. The purified preparation had an Mr of approximately 40 000 on SDS-PAGE. Chemical analysis of the purified preparation showed it to be a protein, and it was sensitive to digestion by various proteolytic enzymes.Entities:
