Abstract
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The management of diabetes over the years has involved the use of herbal plants, which are now attracting interest. We assessed the antidiabetic properties of aqueous extract of C. purpureus shoots (AECPS) and the mechanism of action on pancreatic ß-cell dysfunction.Entities:

FIGURE 4Proposed mechanism of action of Cenchrus purpureus shoots in diabetic rats on improving insulin binding and increase glucose metabolism. C. purpureus, increase the PI3K/Akt, Bcl2, and PCNA expression in the insulin signaling pathways. This leads to increase in the insulin sensitivity and reduce the blood glucose.
