Abstract
Current technical reports indicate License-Assisted Access (LAA) Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) as the preferred channel access scheme for the upcoming 5G New Radio-Unlicensed. Various studies have examined heterogeneous coexistence of WiFi/LTE-LAA systems. This paper investigates the homogeneous coexistence of intra-network LAA-LBT devices operating in dense deployment scenarios. Results relevant to ETSI-specified priority classes are reported in terms of channel utilization, collision probability, and channel access delay. The framework presented in this paper is then employed to investigate wireless coexistence in a 5G-enabled intensive care unit employing remote patient monitoring over 5G NR-U.Entities:
