Abstract
The binding of human fibrinogen to different morphological forms of Candida albicans (blastoconidia, germ tubes and hyphae) was investigated by immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. Fibrinogen appeared to bind more strongly to hyphae than to yeast forms, and was detected on the cell wall coat. These observations suggest a possible role for fibrinogen in fungal colonization processes in vivo.Entities:
