Abstract
Background: Morphological analysis of bone marrow cells is considered as the gold standard for the diagnosis of leukemia. However, due to the diverse morphology of bone marrow cells, extensive experience and patience are needed for morphological examination. automatic diagnosis system through the comprehensive application of image analysis and pattern recognition technology is urgently needed to reduce work intensity, error probability and improves work efficiency.Entities:

Figure 1Workflow of the system. The feature maps are extracted by the backbone of ResNet-101. Based on Faster R-CNN, the model detects the bounding boxes of the objects and the corresponding confidence. The results are firstly sorted by their classification logits, followed by the generalized average precision loss to relieve the effect caused by class imbalance (Wright’s stain, ×1,000). R-CNN, Region-Convolutional Neural Network; CLS, classification; IoU, Intersection of Union; GT, ground truth.
