Abstract
Testicular torsion occurring three years after bilateral orchiopexy is described. The antecedent orchiopexy was accomplished using 2-0 proline sutures and transseptal fixation of the contralateral testicle. A history of bilateral orchiopexy should not interfere with diagnosing torsion in the acute scrotum. Doppler ultrasound and nuclear imaging scan are auxiliary tools that should be used when available, but should not preclude expeditious surgical treatment of suspected torsion.Entities:
