Abstract
Protoplasts are plant cells that have had their cell walls removed, which allows for a variety of cellular manipulations that are not possible within the context of intact plant tissue. Unfortunately, the removal of cell walls is not trivial and can be sensitive to cell type and cell differentiation state. Here, we describe a modified protoplasting protocol that improves isolation of viable protoplasts from the seedling maize shoot apex.Entities:
