aStudents with test results positive for SARS-CoV-2 often had their testing performed outside of the school system. Although these students are included in the case number total, some of them did not generate school-based quarantined contacts because of an exemption owing to vaccination or previous SARS-CoV-2 infection or because testing outside the school system failed to trigger timely contact tracing. RT-PCR indicates reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.
