Abstract
Kinetics of growth and dissolution of calcium oxalate monohydrate were examined in the presence of small concentrations of methylene blue. The data presented show moderate retardation in growth and dissolution rates. It was also found that methylene blue decreased the decalcification rate of calcium oxalate renal calculi. The implications of these findings in the treatment of urolithiasis are discussed.Entities:
