Abstract
We have described a cardiac transplant recipient with fatal Pseudallescheria boydii infection of the central nervous system. Unusual features included meningitis without brain abscess and noncommunicating hydrocephalus due to exuberant growth of the organism in the ventricular fluid. Long-term amphotericin B administration may have played a role in the development of this infection.Entities:
