Abstract
Differences in kill kinetics and regrowth patterns of bacteria under the influence of various antibiotics are frequently not represented by their MIC values. The area under the concentration curve represents antimicrobial activity more accurately than the peak concentration. Readministration of antibiotics should occur prior to bacterial regrowth for optimal efficacy. When administering antibiotics in combinations nonsimultaneous dosing is superior to simultaneous administration.Mesh:
