Abstract
Background: Previous observational studies provided conflicting results on the association between low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level and the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Objective: We used two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study to explore the causal associations between LDL-C level and the risks of individual, paternal, maternal, and family history of AD.Entities:

Figure 1Schematic representation of a Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. We selected SNPs which associated with low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and the corresponding effect for these single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) was estimated based on the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) obtained from a large cohort of European population.
Baseline characteristics of LDL-C and Alzheimer's disease.
