Abstract
Hypoxia drives cancer metastasis and induces cancer cells to switch from collective to amoeboid migration. A new study identifies a molecular pathway in which hypoxia stimulates calpain-2-mediated cleavage of talin-1, resulting in a reduction of integrin β1 activity and the promotion of blebbing amoeboid cancer cell migration and metastasis.Entities:
