Diabetes registries in Asia. Diabetes Epidemiology Research International Registry Group.

.

Abstract

The importance of diabetes registries and the current status of registries in Asia are described. Such registries are needed in order to understand the etiology and natural history of the disease. Moreover, registries provide important public health information to the community. Guidelines for registry development are presented, and the existing, as well as planned, registries in Asia are reviewed.
