Abstract
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has important implications for gravid patients as they are more likely to experience severe complications of pregnancy such as multisystem inflammatory syndrome if infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Due to normal physiological adaptations of pregnancy, COVID-19 may strain an already stressed respiratory system, making delivery a viable treatment option. We present a case of a gravid patient infected with COVID-19 pneumonia who delivered vaginally in the intensive care unit (ICU) at our hospital. Further research into clinical progress and management of pregnancy complicated by COVID-19 is necessary.Entities:
